CHALLENGE
A legislature mandated one agency separate its Family and Children’s Services Division into a standalone agency. The new agency had to create its own Human Resource, Information Technology, and Administrative Divisions, provide facilities in every county, and hire many additional social workers. The work had to be completed in a tight timeframe to address court-ordered and legislative deadlines.
SOLUTION
ProCom assisted both agencies with program management across all of the separation activities. ProCom worked with the leaders across both agencies to inventory and prioritize work, manage interdependencies, and implement best practices for procurement, contracting, vendor management, human resource management, and information technology.
RESULTS
The agency separation was completed four months ahead of schedule and under budget. ProCom provided problem solving support as issues arose during the separation and best practice advice on each aspect of the separation.
